Gisteren, Wereld Vrouwen Dag, vond ik dit gebed weer terug in mijn aantekeningen. Het is een gebed van Anne Baring. Zij schreef het rond de eeuwwisseling. Het verlangen en de resonans die uit het gebed oprijzen, reizen al mijn hele leven met mij mee, Anne vond er de woorden voor.
Vandaag de dag, wanneer we de menselijke catastrofes zich nu al 2 jaar zien ontwikkelen op onze planeet, lees ik het gebed weer geregeld tijdens mijn practice.
Ik deel het graag met je: A Prayer to the Holy Spirit, het vrouwelijke aangezicht van God. Wellicht geeft het jou net zoveel Licht om voor de Waarheid en de Liefde te gaan.
A Prayer to the Holy Spirit
May the Holy Spirit of Wisdom awaken us to a deeper sense of relationship with the Earth, with eachother and the hidden dimensions of Life, still in veil of our sight
May Her Light and Love shine through our hearts and humanise our minds
May She helps us to become aware from the oneness and sacredness of Life and to care for our neighbour and ourself
May she inspire us to be protectors instead of destroyers of Life
May the souls of those whose lives have been brutally extinguisted be released from the terror, grief, loneliness and despair in which they died
May She helps us to recognise and transform evil and to respond to the torment of all persecuted peoples as if it were our own
May She help us to see that evil is the willingness to inflict terror, pain, humiliation, torture or death on other human beings
May She heal those who are unable to love and who carry a deep wound by unbearable sufferings in childhood
May they be released from the compulsion to inflict pain and sufferings on others
May She free us from bondage to political and religious fanatism, who’s legacy we witness today
May She guide us to call for leaders who serve the true need of all peoples and all species on this planet
May She help us to find the courage and determination to restrain the greed that is distroying the Earth ecosystem and exploiting its resources for the sole benefit of our species.
My She inspire us to offer our lives in service of a great web of living relationships that is Her Life and the cosmos
My She give us the humility, wisdom, strength and compassion to accomplish the Great Work of transmuting our nature from base metal to Gold.
